AWS offers hundreds of types of instances (also called families). Very often, your workload can be easily run on multiple instance families very efficiently. It is important to understand how you should select instance family to get more savings.

You can get more savings if you buy EC2 instance savings plan instead of compute savings plan. However, to do so, you need to carefully limit your instances to a few select families.
